Job overview
The Eating Disorders Service at The Brownhill Centre, Cheltenham is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Eating Disorders Practitioner to assist in the leadership of the Community Team.
The Eating Disorders service is highly regarded and provides specialist assessment, treatment and support for individuals who are experiencing an eating disorder and their families within Gloucestershire. There is a strong focus on specialist therapies in the service and excellent clinical leadership and supervision within the team.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting and innovative opportunity for an experienced Professional to assist in the leadership of the community eating disorders team.
You will work autonomously alongside an MDT typically compromising of RMN’s, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Psychologists, Psychiatrists and GPs.
The scope of the role envisages that you will provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment appointments to patients/families and carers suffering with an eating disorder. You will also provide specialist advice and support for other clinicians both within the ED service as well as other clinicians from system partners.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This is an exciting and innovative opportunity for an experienced RMN or registered Allied Health Professional to lead a community team for Eating Disorders. You will work autonomously alongside an MDT typically compromising of RMN’s, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Psychologists, Psychiatrists and GPs. The scope of the role envisages that you will provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment appointments to patients/families and carers suffering with an Eating Disorder. You will also provide specialist advice and support for other clinicians both within the ED service as well as other clinicians from system partners.
The Eating Disorders Service consists of the 3 Specialist Teams: a Day Treatment Programme (DTP) for people aged 16+, a Child and Adolescent Home Treatment Team (ChAHTT) for young people below age 18 and a community team for all ages. The community team provides specialist evidence based treatments on an individual and family basis for children, adolescents and adults with an eating disorder.
The team provides advice, consultation and support to primary care, social care, voluntary and educational staff as well as members of the public. The team promotes an awareness of eating disorders and appropriate interventions to the wider public.
