Job overview
Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is looking for a Part Time Administration Assistant, to work Monday - Friday, 9.00 - 13.30, primarily within the Welfare Office.
The post holder must be flexible able to work on their own initiative and a part of a team. The role will involve front line tasks, including telephone enquiries, cash handling and reconciling accounts, DWP benefits, face to face with patients and clinical staff, travelling to different trust sites, assisting the team where needed. There will be other general administrative tasks involved to support the clinical staff.
We will offer you support, supervision, training and the opportunity for personal development.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for experienced candidates with an excellent level of administration, interpersonal and organisational skills. You will also need to be computer literate with experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. You will be given full training on the various systems that we use.
We are looking for someone with a positive and compassionate approach to supporting patient care. The role will include telephone calls from clients and due to the nature of the services we carry out administrative support for these can sometimes be distressing.
Successful candidates will be expected to work in the organisation, providing services in a professional, efficient, friendly and polite manner.
You must be able to build effective working relationships, be approachable and accessible with a flexible approach to work. This is an excellent career development opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who wishes to pursue an administrative career in the NHS.

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.
All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.
