Job overview

This is an exciting time to join the MSE group, MSE is formed of 3 hospitals under one Trust board. Basildon Hospital, Broomfield Hospital and Southend Hospital. 

We are looking for a Locum Consultant within Vascular for a six-month period.  The role would include undertaking outpatient clinics in  Southend Hospital and theatre lists and  participate in on call cover at Basildon Hospital.  

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a friendly, supportive team where Multi-Disciplinary Team work is envisaged as a key component the way this Trust works and will involve Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussion with other colleagues.

You will work in line with your colleagues, with the expectation to work in conjunction with other consultants from the Vascular Surgery Department. The workload will be based across two sites Basildon and Southend, involving in the ward rounds, reviewing emergency, post elective and inpatient referrals, additionally you will have outpatient clinics and  theatre sessions.  During completing your duties you will continue to promote a friendly working environment, keeping teamwork and training at the forefront of what we do.   Teaching Primary and Junior Medical staff on a case by case basis, but also undertaking more formal teaching activities.

On call duties are in a 1:9 rotation that includes a mixture of both days and nights.

  • Evidence of good Verbal and Written English Language Skills

Education and training

Essential criteria
  • Experience in Teaching, Training and Supervising Junior Doctors
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of training within Vascular Surgery

Clinical Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience in Vascular Surgery with evidence of ongoing commitment
Desirable criteria
  • Post Graduate Degree Vascular Fellowship training

Qualifications

  • Full GMC Registration
