Job overview

We have an opportunity for a Housekeeper to join our facilities team located at our beautiful Little Havens hospice located in Thundersley,  on a part-time basis, working 22.5 hours per week.

 

Main duties of the job

To carry out cleaning and housekeeping duties to a high standard as to minimise the risk of infection and ensure the Hospices are a clean, homely environment for all users.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Cleaning to include Toilets and Bathrooms, Administration areas, Care areas, Accommodation areas and Reception areas. 
  • Dusting, cleaning, washing/ironing, cleaning at higher levels/ vacuuming. Some lifting and moving of furniture and equipment will be required.
  • Maintain cleaning standards following the cleaning schedule applicable to the area of work.
  • Use the correct cleaning products and equipment for the job and report any deterioration in standards and health hazards.
  • Ensure that all floor surfaces, furniture, fixtures, fittings and equipment are cleaned in the relevant manner.
  • Carry out spot cleaning to ensure spillages are dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
  • Check daily and replenish disposables as and when required.
  • Ensure that the Hospices are always safe and tidy (e.g. move clutter, tidy areas etc).
  • To support the cleaning at other sites as required.         
  • To take part in any deep cleaning required throughout the organisation.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English, or demonstrable good standard of literacy and numeracy skills

Skills & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a cleaning or housekeeping role.
  • Experience of using chemicals and cleaning products safely
