The successful applicant  will be part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary  IT Projects team.  You will provide support to our 3 key hospital sites and other locations working with a range of clinical and corporate services.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of IT trends and current technologies as well as a comprehensive knowledge of national HSCIC policy and latest thinking on the strategic direction of Healthcare Informatics.

You will need to be an experienced project manager and change specialist with a strong history of successful delivery of complex IT projects which includes upgrading and re-platforming systems onto new IT infrastructure's.

Main duties of the job

  • The Senior Project Manager & Change Specialist will be part of a highly skilled IT Projects team responsible for delivering IT projects across their 3 key hospital sites and other locations working with a range of clinical and corporate services.
  • The post holder will have an excellent understanding of IT trends and current technologies as well
    as a comprehensive knowledge of national HSCIC policy and latest thinking on the strategic direction of Healthcare Informatics. They will be a skilled and experienced project manager and
    change specialist with a strong history of successful delivery of complex IT projects including upgrading and re-platforming systems onto new IT infrastructure.
  • Need to be able to develop user and support documentation, present project briefings at all levels of the Trust and deliver user and support training; consequently advanced communication and documentation skills and a highly developed command of the English language are required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the deployment of a major IT projects and associated system upgrade across MSE Trust using PRINCE2 methodology
  • To assist in the development of necessary documents to start projects up such as Business Cases, Project Initiation Document, detailed Specifications etc.
  • Identification of stakeholders and project communications planning
  • Involve users in all stages of the systems development and project life cycle and managing the relationship with users.
  • Identify and report on project milestones.
  • Write and present regular highlight/exception reports, project documentation, information and presentations in project progress as required to the Team Managers, Project Board(s), IT Steering Group and the Trust
  • Ability to lead and manage staff. Manage relationships within and across Digital Services and the wider organization.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent, or evidence of ability to work at that level
  • PRINCE 2 Project management foundation and practitioner or APMP/MSP

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Supervisory NHS experience
  • Highly skilled IT professional with demonstrable NHS IT experience
  • Demonstrable experience in project management
  • Experience of change management in the NHS
  • Experience of delivering complex technology solutions across multiple site networks and infrastructures
