Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our Urology team at Southend hospital.

In your role you will promote and develop high standards of care and work within the Urology team supporting patients with urological conditions working in close collaboration with the Urology team and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a safe and effective pathway of care.

Your role will include providing care in the urology outpatient department & minor operations unit and communicating closely with primary care services.

This role is ideal for any nurse with demonstrable urological experience. 

Main duties of the job

Your role is to ensure that an individual programme of care is planned, implemented and evaluated for each patient within own sphere of responsibility, working as part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring the delivery of a high standard of care to the patients.

You will contribute as a team leader in the absence of the outpatient Manager/Deputy outpatient Manager, participating in all relevant aspects of the Governance process acting as a positive role model at all times.

Your role will involve making a thorough assessment of the patient’s needs and document these in accordance with Trust policies, formulating a plan of care based on the identified needs of the patient, taking into account current evidence based research findings and ensuring that all the care planned is delivered to the patient at the highest possible standard.

  • Teaching qualification (ENB 998 or equivalent)

  • Experience of caring for patient with Urological conditions.
  • Be able to effectively escalate concerns

  • Demonstrable Urology experience.
  • Experience of working automatously & part of a team
