Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an administrator to support the School aged immunisation service, based at Sankey House Pitsea for 3 days a week.  The hours will be 9am - 5pm and must include a Friday.

 We are looking for an experienced candidate with an excellent level of administration, interpersonal and organisational skills. You will also need to be computer literate with experience of MS Word and Excel and will be given full training on  SystmOne as well as other internal systems.

 We are looking for individuals with a positive, dynamic and compassionate approach to supporting patient care.

 Successful candidates will be expected to work in the organisation, providing services in a professional, efficient, friendly and polite manner.

 You must be able to build effective working relationships, be approachable and accessible with a flexible approach to work. This is an excellent career development opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who wishes to pursue an administrative career in the NHS.

 A full, clean driving license is required for this post and use of a car.

Main duties of the job

*Telephone support, receiving and making calls to parents including making appointments on SystmOne and general queries relating to service delivery

* Completing BCG referral's 

* Prepare immunisation session paperwork

* Patient data management on SystmOne and excel spreadsheets

* Maintain smooth running of the office, including stationery audits

* Liaising with schools

* Immunisation consent management

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • This Job role will work specifically within the Community and School Age Immunisation Services and will provide administrative cover for the BCG Immunisation service and cover for Children’s immunisations when required.
  • To operate as a centralised department providing a comprehensive administration service and functions within the Trusts’ Localities.
  • The service will ensure the timely and accurate recording of all activity across services using Trust information systems.
  • The service will require a team approach to ensure cover for absence across all services / locations.
  • Post holders, as appropriate, will be required to provide administration duties on behalf of these services.
  • Due to the nature of the role a strong emphasis is placed on safeguarding confidentiality and this forms a pre-requisite for every Administration Assistant.
