Ipswich Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Theatre Practitioner to join our caring, supportive, and compassionate team. This post is ideal if you are passionate about your profession and committed to delivering high-quality patient focused care.

This post is integral to the effectiveness of South Theatres new surgical hub and provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to play a fundamental role in the development of Elective and Emergency surgery at the Ipswich Hospital.

South Theatres and the new surgical hub provides both Elective and Emergency surgery. The department provides 24 hour cover for Emergency Surgery and has 8 operating theatres, which consists of a dedicated Emergency and urgent surgery Theatres, and 6 Elective Theatres.

This post is available to Allied Health Professionals - Operating Department Practitioners and registered nurses with exceptional theatre/scrub experience.

The role will be working in both the new and existing theatres, for Ipswich hospital. This is an exciting opportunity with the newest innovation at the Trust being the introduction of robotic surgery using the Da Vinci Robot.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered nurse/Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC)
  • Evidence of continued professional Development Plans
Desirable criteria
  • Dip HE (or working towards)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Has experience of working within a team
  • Evidence of Exposure to or understanding Relevant Clinical Experience
  • Significant recent relevant hospital experience
Desirable criteria
  • Previous relevant perioperative experience

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understands the clinical role of a nurse/ODP within the Perioperative team.
Desirable criteria
  • Has evidence of professional portfolio development
