Job overview
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our Operating Theatres Unit within East Theatres.
You will join a friendly and extremely flexible team, who require you to demonstrate a positive attitude and a desire to learn. You will be fully supported by experienced Theatre Practitioners allowing you to build confidence within orthopaedic theatres, and will be given every opportunity to further develop your skills and career.
You will undergo a training programme incorporating all essential competencies to enable the delivery of quality peri-operative patient care.
Whilst given the benefits of specialising in orthopaedic surgery, you will support other operating suites across the theatres and anaesthetic department.
Main duties of the job
You will provide support and assistance within the operating department teams. You will contribute to the support and care of patients under the direction of registered members of the clinical team.
It is a direct patient focus role, where you will collect patients for theatre and assist the register staff to prepare the patient for their surgery. You will support in theatre to providing care to patients and support the scrub practitioner to have the necessary equipment need for surgery.
We run a 7 day service and the applicant will be expected to work weekends to cover the trauma service.
