Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated housekeeper to support the new surgical elective hub and south theatres.

You will be an integral part of the team ensuring high quality service to patients. Understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality, be a good communicator liaising with other areas of the hospital, EBME, estates and facilities, OCS and SSD.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated individual who has a keen interest in developing their knowledge and skills in the surgical care of patients. If you are interested in a new challenge and embrace innovation then this could be the role for you.

You will be supporting the clinical team to keep the theatre environment clean and tidy, maintain stock levels and get equipment ready for the next day. Part of the role will be transporting equipment between the different surgical areas, to keep a smooth running of the surgical list.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who has a keen interest in patient centred care and the surgical environment.

You will:

  • Work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to ensure we maintain the highest of standards of care
  • Be proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • To work with the senior stores coordinator to maintain stock levels in both areas.
  • Organise and get ready, equipment required for the next day surgical lists, communicating with SSD about equipment that is required.
  • To keep the theatre area clean and tidy, taking part in cleaning audits and maintaining high standards of infection control.
  • Transporting equipment from one theatre suite to another.
  • Report any failed equipment to EBME.
