Job overview
We are looking to recruit highly motivated nurses who are passionate about the care of patients to join our day surgery team in Ipswich hospital.
The role will be working in both the existing STAU and the new day surgery unit, which has six beds for pre and post-surgery patients.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly team who are motivated in promoting the delivery of patient-centred, clinically effective and dynamic service to our patients.

Main duties of the job
In this post you will deliver excellent and individualised care to our patients, and you will be fully supported to achieve this through our comprehensive educational strategy. You will be looking after patient’s pre and post-surgery, delivering high quality patient centred care
Depending on your level of experience, you will develop your competence and confidence through a program of supervised practice.
You will be working with a multidisciplinary team of Nurses, doctors Operating department practitioners and other health care professionals.
There will be a chance for you to participate in an internal rotation to work also in other areas of the department, theatres and recovery.
There are a number of development opportunities such as the Degree top-up, Anaesthetic course and ALS/ILS/PILS.
The unit is open between 07-21.00- Monday to Friday with the possibility to be open on Saturday in the future.

- NVQ/Diploma Operating Department Practitioner
Desirable criteria
- Preparation for Mentorship
- Anaesthetic qualification
- Immediate Life support (adults/ children)
Experience

- 12 months post reg experience with some leadership and management
- Working in post anaesthetic recovery environment
