Job overview
With the imminent opening at ESNEFT of Europe’s largest Elective care centre we are looking for a static Band 5 to join our MSK outpatient team. We are a friendly supportive team with excellent rehab facilities –a large well equipped gym, hydrotherapy pool and purpose built hand therapy area. We are a motivated and ambitious team with involvement in research projects and national special interest groups.
The majority of our work is with the rehabilitation of patients who are either post-surgery or post trauma, but you would also have the opportunity to gain experience in rheumatology and oncology
To support your ongoing CPD we run twice monthly teaching sessions and weekly quadrant meetings where we discuss clinical cases, work on service developments and review journal articles. You would also be supported by a senior member of staff.
If your passion is MSK Physiotherapy this is the post for you.
Main duties of the job
To work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team in the musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy department, which includes hand therapy.
To gain experience and develop skills and knowledge in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
To gain experience and develop skills and knowledge in hand therapy as service demands require.
To conduct face-to-face appointments, virtual when required and lead exercise classes, including hydrotherapy.
To manage own caseload of patients, seeking advice and problem solving from senior staff when required.
Working for our organisation
We are ESNEFT and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex. Our dedicated staff deliver care from acute hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, community hospitals, surgeries, community clinics and in patients’ own homes.
We are one of the largest NHS organisations in England, employing more than 12,000 staff.
We pride ourselves on supporting our staff. We offer a wide range of training and development opportunities, as well as flexible working options.
Along with supporting you to achieve your career goals we offer a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro rata) and access to a range of NHS discounts. Our Staff Health and Wellbeing programme offer a variety of services.
Our philosophy is that Time Matters to everyone. Across the Trust, we concentrate on improving the things we do and removing those which cause time delays for our staff and patients.
We are investing in our commitment to Time Matters with a partnership with leading electronic patient record (EPR) supplier Epic. This digital transformation will bring what’s widely regarded as the world’s best EPR system to ESNEFT, transforming life in hospital for staff and patients.
