Job overview

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join our fantastic team of Senior Midwives as  a Labour Ward Coordinator/Bleep Holder. You will provide 24/7 cover to oversee the efficient and effective management of all maternity clinical areas across Maternity Services. 

As Labour Ward Coordinator you will have overall responsibility for the operational management of staffing and staff numbers. You will promote high standards of professional practice and the delivery of quality care within the corporate policies, protocols and guidelines.

As a senior member of our team you will provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff.

You will need to be a highly skilled clinical expert with specialised knowledge in caring for patients

Qualifications

  • • Registered Midwife
  • • Teaching / mentorship qualification e.g. ENB 998 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • • Evidence of continuing education
  • • Relevant degree or working towards
  • • Advanced Life Support provider / other course of similar calibre

Skills

  • • Leadership skills with evidence of staff motivation and team building
  • • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
