Job overview

This role organises courses and seminars for Dental Trainees across the East Of England and beyond, providing expert administration and being present at hands-on course days to ensure a first class training experience.

Working within the Medical Education team in ESNEFT, this role is fulfilling and involves working with dental school colleagues towards common goals.

  • To develop education programmes and organise training events for Dental Workforce Development and Foundation Dental Training in response to national and local strategy as well as trainee priorities and needs.
  • Be present at hands on training days to support trainers, trainees and Training Programme Directors to ensure a great experience for all attendees.
  • To oversee and carry out regular maintenance and sterilisation of all equipment within the dental skills laboratory, including regular checks to ensure safety and fitness for purpose and prompt repair of any defects.
  • To manage a core supply of specialist dental and medical equipment -sourcing and ordering from a variety of global suppliers and representatives, including order and set up of animal and human materials.

Main duties of the job

As a first point of contact for enquiries, the key tasks are to:

  • Provide general advice and support on a range of subjects to line managers and staff on Trust policies and procedures, resolving any queries and referring to other members of the Team as appropriate
  • Act as a point of contact for all visitors to the office, passing on relevant information to appropriate team members
  • Take telephone calls in the absence of colleagues within the Team, providing advice where appropriate and escalating enquiries to a more senior member of the Team when required
  • Communicate effectively using face to face, telephone and electronic means of communication with internal and external contacts to ensure the delivery of an effective service
  • Observe and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Responding to national and local strategy as well as trainee priorities and needs to develop education programmes for Dental Workforce Development and Foundation Dental Training.
  • Management of all administration initiating own correspondence and maintaining effective communication and FD performance monitoring.
  • Managing, promoting and developing a number of complex educational programmes across a variety of dental procedures requiring specific planning and organisation.
  • Supervisors’ rights over online Accent Management System with total responsibility to set up, amend and approve dental courses.
