Trosolwg o'r swydd

The post holder will work in collaboration with the named nurse and other safeguarding professionals within the safeguarding team to support
activities that ensure the Trust meets its responsibilities outlined and in accordance with the Children Act (1989, 2004) and Working Together to
Safeguard Children (2023).
The post holder will work with the safeguarding team to ensure that the Trust maintains optimum standards including the update of safeguarding
policies in line with local and statutory national guidance. The post holder will be expected to provide professional advice and support to health
professionals across the PAH NHS Trust on matters relating to safeguarding  Children/Young People babies and unborn babies,
working with partner agencies to ensure robust, timely communication and effective practice to safeguard.
The post holder will be expected to support the planning, facilitation and evaluation of a robust training programme that is consistent with the
Intercollegiate Document. Safeguarding Children and Young People, Roles and Competencies for Health Care Staff (2019) and supports the
requirements of the workforce at PAH NHS Trust
The post holder will have a key role in providing reflective safeguarding supervision for employees at PAH NHS Trust as set out within the Trust
Safeguarding Supervision Policy.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

Maintain knowledge and expertise on National Policy in relation to safeguarding and provide advice and support to all staff.
• Be aware of and apply where possible, the recommendations of the Safeguarding practice reviews , Confidential Enquiries, the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) and NHSE 
• Demonstrate overt professional leadership and safeguarding expertise and foster a culture where all staff can develop their
own expertise and confidence and feel valued.
• Establish good working relationships and work collaboratively with other agencies including Social Care and the Police.
• Liaise with Named/safeguarding practitioners a locally and nationally, Children’s Social Care, GP’s and health visitors
to ensure effective communication and information sharing regarding  safeguarding processes.
• Ensure effective communication on all aspects  Safeguarding  including all changes and new initiatives and an effective learning environment for both students and qualified staff.

We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford and Epping. Our extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.

Education and qualification

  • United Kingdom recognised Degree in a healthcare profession

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of professional portfolio and registration revalidation
  • Evidence of recent level 3 safeguarding children/Young people training
