Working for our organisation

PAH plays a key role in supporting health and wellbeing across West Essex and East & North Hertfordshire. Our staff of 3,000 serves a rapidly growing population of 350,000. Currently, PAH is our main site, and we also offer outpatient and diagnostic services at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Epping and Herts & Essex Hospital in Bishop’s Stortford.

We offer a full range of local services from Princess Alexandra Hospital, including a 24/7 Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Maternity, Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Cancer and Elderly Care.

Our location brings unique opportunities that shape our strategy and vision for the future. We sit within the London, Stansted and Cambridge Innovation Corridor. This is set to become the prime location for technology and life sciences in the UK, and one of five knowledge regions globally (alongside Silicon Valley, Boston Route 128 and The Triangle). That makes for a dynamic and ambitious economy.  It also brings unique opportunities to collaborate with tech firms, giving PAHT the opportunity to take a leading role in modernising and innovating healthcare systems and services.

Our vision is for more than a ‘Hospital’. We want a healthcare campus that brings social care, healthcare, education and housing into one place. This will support the integrated care models that we are already embracing.
