Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior nurse to join our Little Havens Inpatient Unit. 

Main duties of the job

Regularly takes responsibility for being the nurse in charge, formulating plans for patient care, managing frequent changes, and leading the shift.

Responsible for delegating workload to staff, ensure nursing care is delivered to the highest standard and reflects the needs of the patient /children and young people.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Regularly takes responsibility for being the nurse in charge, formulating plans for patient care, managing frequent changes, and leading the shift.
  • Responsible for delegating workload to staff, ensure nursing care is delivered to the highest standard and reflects the needs of the patient /children and young people.
  • Ensure that, as far as possible, family and / or carers are included in guiding the care provided and can deliver care where it is safe, and they wish to do so.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Uses skills to assess and interpret patient conditions and takes action as appropriate

Essential criteria
  • Good level of IT skills

Sector Experience

Essential criteria
  • First level Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Appropriate registration with the NMC
  • Experience of working with children
  • Completed nursing preceptorship
Desirable criteria
  • Registers Children’s or Learning Disability Nurse
  • Experience of working in the charity sector
