Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Receptionist to join our dynamic team in the Pre-Operative Assessment Unit at Colchester Hospital.
Our nurse led team deliver pre-operative assessment to patients who will be undergoing a range of procedures within the specialties of Urology, General Surgery, Upper GI, ENT, Vascular, Oral, Gynaecology ,Orthopaedic and Breast surgery. This position will work closely in supporting the clinical team
Main duties of the job
- To provide comprehensive administrative support to Pre-Assessment
- Ensuring Pre-Assessment reception is well covered, and all internal and external visitors are greeted into the department professionally and according to Trust standards
- Accurately record data onto departmental reports and internal databases

Experience
Essential criteria
- At least 1-year previous experience as an administrator
- Understand requirements of strict confidentiality.
- IT skills – Microsoft packages including Word/Excel/Outlook
- Excellent administrative skills
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge/Experience of Hospital setting
- Knowledge/Experience of Portal system
- Knowledge/Experience of GI Reporting tool
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Minimum 5 GSCEs and graded C or above in Maths and English

- Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and precisely.
- Able to function and contribute within a team.
