Job overview

Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre (ESEOC), situated in the Dame Clare Marx Building, is set to open its doors in the Autumn of 2024. This cutting-edge facility will specialize in elective Orthopaedic surgery and Orthopaedic day cases.

With eight laminar flow theatres, three wards, recovery facilities, and comprehensive support services, ESEOC is poised to become one of the largest centres of its kind in Europe. The Centre is committed to delivering high-volume, low-complexity cases locally, fostering excellence, and contributing to education, training, and research in the field.

We are looking for  experienced senior physiotherapists to join the new service. Experience working with elective Orthopaedic patients at Band 6 level is ideal, but we would also consider candidates with a range of experiences at band 5 who are ready for the next step in their careers.

Applicants should also ideally be experienced student clinical educators with current University run practice educators course.

To be responsible for own caseload, and for a defined area of the service, initially with supervision of senior staff then progressing towards working without direct supervision.  Supervision involves regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and one to one assessments.
