North East Essex Wheelchair Service provides assessment and provision of wheelchairs, pressure care and postural management to clients of all ages living with a long term disability.
North East Essex Wheelchair Service is currently based within Clacton Hospital, however there are plans to move the service to Colchester in 2024/25.
This role is office based therefore the current and future location needs to be noted by applicants. Our core working hours are Monday to Friday 08:30 – 16:30
We would invite you to apply if you enjoy supporting clients to live independent lives, have strong communication skills with people with varying disabilities and differing communication difficulties alongside efficient and skilled administrative qualities.
You will work alongside other administrators, Occupational Therapists and Engineers to deliver high quality and efficient care to our clients demonstrating the Trusts values at all times.

- To provide a client centred and supportive administrative role to the Wheelchair Service Team.
- To be the central point of contact for clients, their support network, referrers, internal and external organisations.
- Client centred job role - strong communicator, face to face with clients of all ages and differing communication abilities.
- To provide a kind, understanding approach to all clients accessing the service.
- Consistent provision of comprehensive and efficient secretarial / administrative support.
- To use your own initiative, managing, prioritising, planning and organising own time using extensive knowledge, skills and experience.
- To be a ‘Team Player’ working in a way that encourages high performance from other staff, with the aim of maintaining optimum efficiency within the department.
- To support other team members to deliver an efficient wheelchair service to clients and their support networks.
- To utilise the required technology/hospital systems/new technology or system(s) and support other team members to do so to deliver an efficient administrative/secretarial service.
