Job overview

We have a new, exciting role to support our community diagnostic centres in gaining and maintaining accreditation. We are looking for an Accreditation Manager to join East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, fixed term until 19th October 2025.

In this role you will be the lead and point of contact for Accreditation, as well as engaging with clinicians and systems leads for the different standards. These include: QSI standard for Medical Imaging, IQIPS for Physiological Sciences, JAG for Endoscopy and ISO for any point of care testing.

You will need to inspire the team around you and provide confidence that the accreditation process is progressing. You will be based at the Clacton Community Diagnostic Centre, however you will be required to travel across to our Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals and other Community Diagnostic Centres where appropriate.

For this role, you do not need to have clinical experience, however it would be advantageous for you to have experience in a governance/accreditation post.

Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. This will need to be discussed with your current line manager.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the Divisional Governance Lead in quality, governance and safety standards in the Community Diagnostic Centre’s service
  • To manage and be accountable for the:
  • Improving Quality in Physiological Services (IQIPS).
  • Quality Standards for Imaging (QSI).
  • The requirements for quality and competence in a medical laboratory environment (ISO15189)
  • Accreditation processes throughout the CDC, carrying out required management and leadership responsibilities to ensure that accreditation is successfully obtained through the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and thereafter maintained.
  • To support the Speciality Leads in ensuring high quality audits and governance processes.
  • To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate ESNEFT values.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Masters degree or equivalent experience in governance, safety and the accreditation process.
  • Knowledge of a good level of work procedures and practices in relation to governance.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in governance and safety practice within a clinical environment
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience in clinical audit / benchmarking
Desirable criteria
  • Prior experience with the UKAS accreditation process.
