Broomfield Hospital Pharmacy Department is currently looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and forward-thinking Senior Pharmacy Homecare Technician to join their busy department.
We are looking for a Band 6 Pharmacy Technician, registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council, to join our department. The post holder will actively be involved in managing the homecare team in the pharmacy department at Broomfield.
The right applicant will be a dedicated, hardworking individual that works well in a team environment as well as under own initiative. Attention to detail and organisational skills are essential.
Based in the busy town of Chelmsford, Mid Essex Hospital is part of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust and the pharmacy department now has around 300 staff working across 3 sites.
Although only recently merged, the pharmacy departments across the three sites have been working together under one Chief Pharmacist for a number of years. During this time we have developed standardised systems and re-designed new and on-going services supporting the wider organisation's clinical configuration changes
Main duties of the job
- Managing the homecare workflow of prescriptions and invoices
- Lead on new services that are suitable for the homecare service
- Staff management and deploying staff to ensure all services of homecare are covered
- Assisting in the training of new and existing staff members
- Writing and checking Standard Operating Procedures
- Working alongside other Senior Technicians and assistants to improve the Pharmacy service

The Pharmacy department has a 'can do' attitude and strives to provide the best service possible at all times to our patients and our colleagues. The pharmacy vision is to be a 'service without walls', integrated within the ward teams supporting excellent patient care .
Team work is at the heart of everything we do within pharmacy. We are a multicultural department with a very friendly atmosphere. We look after each other as well as the patients within our care.

Essential criteria
- More than 1 years post qualification experience within a hospital setting
- Management Experience
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Homecare or Procurement experience
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Pharmacy Technician
- Qualified ACT (nationally recognised qualification) or significant progress towards qualification
Desirable criteria
- Experience speaking to patients
- NHS leadership qualification

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
