Job overview

An exciting opportunity as a Lead Pharmacist has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the established clinical pharmacy team supporting oncology and haematology patients across Mid and South Essex.

You, based at the Broomfield University Hospital site, will be an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, working to provide excellent care to oncology patients throughout the Trust.

Main duties of the job

  • To lead and develop a high quality, comprehensive pharmacy service to oncology and haematology patients within Mid and South Essex
  • To ensure Medicines Management Standards are met within Oncology and Haematology Service
  • To regularly undertake audit projects and research and development with respect to national and local guidelines of practice
  • To be actively involved in the clinical governance aspects of the pharmaceutical service
  • To provide clinical support to the pharmacy aseptic preparation unit

  • Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent experience)
Desirable criteria
  • Independent Prescriber
  • Post graduate qualification in oncology pharmacy

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous hospital experience
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working within an NHS aseptics unit
  • Experience working within oncology and haematology
