Job overview

Critical Care is seeking a Ward Clerk/ Administrator on a permanent full time basis for the high depenndency area. The Ward Administrator is a key member of the ward team and is responsible for providing a wide range of administrative, I.T. and clerical support.

This includes maintaining computer and paper-based patient records, preparing ward paperwork and dealing with telephone enquiries. The post holder will also need to communicate with relatives and provide admin support to the staff team.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, and efficient administrative service to the units; enabling the delivery of a high quality service to the patients and allowing medical and nursing staff to focus on direct patient care.

This will involve considerable liaison with other departments and wards.
