Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join our Little Havens Inpatient Unit, situated within our Little Havens hospice in Benfleet.
This role is available full or part time, depending on preference.
Main duties of the job
Regularly takes responsibility for being the nurse in charge, formulating plans for patient care, managing frequent changes, and leading the shift.
Responsible for delegating workload to staff, ensure nursing care is delivered to the highest standard and reflects the needs of the patient /children and young people.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Regularly takes responsibility for being the nurse in charge, formulating plans for patient care, managing frequent changes, and leading the shift.
- Responsible for delegating workload to staff, ensure nursing care is delivered to the highest standard and reflects the needs of the patient /children and young people.
- Ensure that, as far as possible, family and / or carers are included in guiding the care provided and can deliver care where it is safe, and
- Uses skills to assess and interpret patient conditions and takes action as appropriate
- Liaise with other professionals working within primary and secondary care settings, regarding care when required.
Person specification
Skills & Experience
Essential criteria
- Appropriate registration with the NMC
- Completed nursing preceptorship
Desirable criteria
- Registered Children’s or Learning Disability Nurse OR demonstrable experience working with children within a nursing discipline
- Experience of working in the charity sector
Education
Essential criteria
- First level degree or diploma in nursing
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
