Job overview

We have a wonderful opportunity for an efficient, friendly and effective administrator to join BTUH Gastroenterology Team as a Patient Pathway Coordinator to liaise directly with members of the public as well as hospital staff dealing with highly sensitive and confidential patient information.

Your role will cover 3 days a week and working within our central team, support the service from 9am to 5pm on a rota basis.

Your role will involve you to be responsible for providing an efficient and effective appointment scheduling service, including booking patient appointments, reviewing patient referrals and cancelling appointments, keeping up to date recorded information on the status of patients.

Main duties of the job

You will co-ordinate, monitor and initiate appropriate changes within administrative processes along the patient pathway to ensure the patient’s journey is managed efficiently, smoothly and in accordance with targets and agreed timescales, liaise with teams outside of the speciality e.g. GPs where appropriate to ensure a seamless patient journey and ensure patient information is maintained and updated on the appropriate patient information system.

 

Provide administrative  support to all  clinical staff within the clinical area including; Consultants, Nurse Specialists and Junior Doctors ensuring effective co-ordination of their diaries etc. this will include cancellation and reinstating of clinics in line with planned and unplanned leave.

Support the clinical team, Operational Manager and other Divisional managers in ensuring the specialty are able to deliver safe and effective services whilst also ensuring compliance with contractual access targets e.g. the 18 weeks Referral To Treatment target.

Provide cross-cover for other Patient Pathway Co-coordinators to ensure a consistent and effective administration service is maintained at all times.

  • Good standard of english and maths as per application form
