An opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Support Worker to join the Mental Health Crisis Intervention Service in providing crisis and acute care in the community to individuals in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.  We are seeking individuals who are motivated and enthusiastic about delivering crisis and acute mental health care in these challenging times. 

Mental Health Care Support Workers are essential in helping patients through difficult chapters of their lives, providing trust and being trusted,  as well as being an integral part of a patients' journey, giving  hope and support.

You will be carrying out assigned tasks involving direct care in support of and supervised by a registered clinician and participate in the development and implementation of high quality care.

You will be carrying out assigned tasks involving direct care in support of and supervised by a registered clinician and participate in the development and implementation of high quality care.

You will have a flexible approach to mental health care which will enable you to establish the best possible ways to care for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.

You will be working strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols to promote positive mental/physical/nutritional health with patients.

You will implement clinical tasks in care packages/care plans, document observations and actions as directed by a registered healthcare professional.

You will participate with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in providing a programme of care and to change the patients recovery.

You will receive direct supervision and partake in reflective practice and training on a regular basis.

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of mental health or learning disability issues including: mental health legislation, medication management
  • Standard IT skills
  • Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent experience
