Job overview

Pharmacy IM&T Analyst – Band 4

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated and flexible individual to join the IM&T team within the Department of Pharmacy at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

By joining the Pharmacy IM&T team, you will get an opportunity to gain additional experience, keep your skills up to date and develop new ones especially around IT and business intelligence.

The department of pharmacy employs around two hundred people and manages the procurement and distribution of drugs worth around £100m in a year  at Hull University Teaching Hospitals. It has three dispensing robots that are interfaced with its stock control and dispensing system. The use of different IT systems to support patient care on a daily basis makes the role of the IM&T Team a vital one in the department and it also makes it a rewarding experience to support colleagues for their various IT and information related requirements.  The Trust is keen to support professional development of the entire pharmacy workforce and you will be expected to support, motivate and engage with others.

You must be educated to A level and must have a good working knowledge of MS Office applications and SQL and should be able to manage your own work to meet deadlines. Any previous experience in hardware and software troubleshooting and IT support is desirable.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for upholding an excellent service whilst maintaining the IT assets of the pharmacy department and will be the first line of contact for any IT support queries. You will support Pharmacy colleagues and other areas within the Trust by producing reports and analyses to support management decision making and to meet legal and financial requirements. The post holder will be expected to show initiative in setting up and supporting information systems to help senior and middle managers in the department to make strategic decisions and to monitor performance.

Working for our organisation

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.
