An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Associate to join an innovative and forward thinking Endoscopy Service.

We welcome applications from both newly qualified candidates and those with experience who are looking for a change.

This post is Full Time, our service is currently six days with evening work part of our working week, On call participation is essential. 

Main duties of the job

The nursing associate has a breadth of knowledge across all stages of life and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centered care and support for people of all  ages and in a variety of settings.

The nursing associate works independently under the  leadership of registered nurses, working within the relevant scope of practice and within all aspects of the nursing process.


Nursing associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Nursing Associate and will work to the NMC Code of Conduct and the Nursing Associate Standards of Proficiency. 


The following criteria identify the core components of the roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of Nursing Associates.

They identify what Nursing Associates can contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients and service users, and apply across all health and care settings. Integral to all of these is the ability to communicate effectively, with sensitivity and compassion, and to manage relationships with people, making reasonable adjustments where necessary.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NMC Registration
  • Evidence of verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to assess, contribute to care planning, implementation and evaluation
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of effective team working
  • Post registration experience working as a RNA

Education

Essential criteria
  • Basic Literacy and arithmetic skills to at least GCSE
  • Basic Computers literacy and skills
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of continued development

Skills, Knowledge and Ability

Essential criteria
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered health or care professional
  • Ability to participate in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities
  • IT Skills appropriate to role
  • Able to recognise own limitations in the context of nursing role
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of using IT based patient systems within HUTH

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of working within a health / care setting
Desirable criteria
  • Recent clinical experience in an acute setting
