We have an exciting opportunity for a caring and committed person to join our community dietetic team in Hull/East Riding.

The purpose of this job is to assist the dietetic and clerical team to provide a high-quality nutrition and dietetic service to patients and staff within CHCP including tasks relating to promoting nutrition awareness, administration, patient contact, communication, education and audit. The role requires good prioritisation skills and an ability to adapt to ever changing tasks in order to fully support the department. This role is covering adults and is vital in supporting our aim to provide exceptional patient care. Diversity within the role is achieved through carrying out support for care homes and support for people in their own homes via variable methods of communication.

To assist Registered Dietitians in the development and delivery of an innovative high quality community dietetic service in an environment that enhances patient care. To work closely with community dietitians to deliver nutritional and health promotion services. To work closely with nutritional support service reviewing and monitoring clients nutritional care plans. To carry out delegated clerical / administrative duties when required.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a therapy assistant or Health Care Assistant
  • Experience of working with people with physical and/or mental health problems
  • Understanding of confidentiality
  • Effective interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate formally and informally
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and able to work without direct supervision, prioritising own workload and using own initiative, knowing when to refer issues to the relevant registered professional
