We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Dietitian who is interested and motivated to work within established community clinics, care homes and patient’s own homes. This rewarding community role provides you with a wide range of opportunities to develop your practice and work alongside an experienced and welcoming Dietetic Team.

Your caseload will be varied within primary care, to include nutrition support, enteral feeding, non-complex gastroenterology and weight management. Previous experience in community working is desirable but not essential and you will have the support of specialist Dietitians in a variety of clinical areas across the service.

The service operates across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire with the Team consisting of 9 Dietitians, 4 Dietetic associate Practitioner and 2 administration and clerical staff.

Main duties of the job Clinical Supervision is a valued part of our timetable and is routinely scheduled into your work.

We offer a probationary period when starting to enhance your induction and promote safe and effective professional consolidation once qualified. We endeavor to support your role where we can and ensure that we offer a wide range of opportunities for learning and development; we hold monthly group supervision and quarterly CPD sessions.

We take students for B and C placements and expect the post-holder to be directly involved in their training after a period of induction.

Qualifications

  • Degree or post-degree course in Dietetics leading to registration with HCPC

  • ECDL or equivalent competency

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of general dietetics including diabetes, obesity and nutritional support
  • Basic IT skills
  • Knowledge of reflective practice
  • Competent in the use of enteral tube feeding equipment
  • Awareness of student training requirements

Experience

  • Experience of clinical dietetics in acute or primary care settings
  • Experience of managing personal dietetic caseload
  • Participation in training of other health professionals
  • Able to contribute effective multidisciplinary working across agencies
  • Able to use weighing equipment safely
