The post will cover Ward catering Services at  Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital  .  

Shift pattern include days, weekends and bank holidays with unsocial hours enhancements (as per NHS employee terms and conditions)

Post 1 CHH 18.75hrs

Week 1 - Wednesday - 8.00 -13.30pm & 15.00 -18.30pm, Friday - 8.00 -13.30pm.

Week 2 - Monday - 8.00 -13.30pm, & 15.00-18.30pm, Wednesday - 15.00 -18.30pm, Friday - 8.00 -13.30pm & 15.00 - 18.30pm, Saturday - 15.00 - 18.30pm, Sunday 15.00 -18.30pm

Post 2 - 19.5hrs

Week 1 - Monday - 8.00 -13.30pm & 15.00 -18.30pm, Friday - 8.00 - 13.30pm, Saturday 8.00 - 13.30pm, Sunday -8.00 - 13.30pm & 15.00 -18.30pm

Main duties of the job

The post holder will assist in the provision of a comprehensive and cost-effective catering service that meets the needs of all patients whilst fulfilling the objectives of the Trust.

To provide a full range of high quality ward catering services including the regeneration and attractive presentation of a wide range of cook-freeze food items.

  • Previous catering/food manufactoring experience
Desirable criteria
  • Previous healthcare work

Food Safety & Training

Essential criteria
  • Basic food safety training or above
  • GCSE maths and english
Desirable criteria
  • Level 2 or above food safety
  • NVQ level 2 or above

skills

Essential criteria
  • General Catering Skills – ie knife skills, food preparation skills
  • Kitchen and personal hygiene.
  • Ability to meet service

knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of HACCP/Food Safety.
