Job overview
In conjunction with the Matron/ Sister assist in the day to day running of the department. This involves supporting the wider members of the team including HCA’s and dental nurses. To ensure the department provides a safe and clean environment for patients to be seen, treated and cared for. To work alongside the MDT. To provide care and expert clinical skills in the nurse led dressing clinics.
Main duties of the job
· To facilitate the running alongside the Sister of the department. Supporting all junior members of the team.
· To ensure stock & pharmacy are ordered to enable the team to carry out clinics with all the necessary equipment
· To create a safe and welcoming environment
· To undertake lone clinics for patients with complex dressings, to follow up these patients, document clinical findings and escalate concerns
· To support the wider team within the trust policy.
· To always put the patient first and act as their advocate.
· To keep up to date with necessary training and be willing to learn and develop within the team

Education
Essential criteria
- Trained to diploma level or above
- NMC registered
Desirable criteria
- Further training in woundcare
- Evidence of further education since qualifying
Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Use of sema and careflow
Desirable criteria
- evidence of training in wound care
- evidence of working in an outpatient environment
- understanding and recent experience of working in an acute environment
- previous MFU experience
