Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our friendly Beeding Special Care Baby Unit, (SCBU) at Worthing Hospital. Whether you are looking for a friendly supportive environment to begin your neonatal career or are experienced nurse wishing to develop, this is the job for you!

Beeding SCBU is a Level 1 unit funded for 12 cots; 2 High Dependency cots  and 10 SCBU cots providing care for babies born at 31 weeks gestation and above.  We encourage both adult and newly qualified nurses to apply as role specific training will be provided in the form of a comprehensive orientation program and opportunity to access the neonatal qualified in speciality course.  Our amazing Practice Development Teams will also be available to support for all your development and education needs.

Main duties of the job

Direct care for babies requiring short term ventilation, CPAP, phototherapy and feeding support.

Work with families to empower them to become the primary carers and partners in care for their babies.

Competent in administering drugs and utilising equipment.

  • Educated to Diploma or Degree Level
  • Good communication skills
