Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic receptionist to join our team in Endoscopy at Worthing Hospital. This is a part time role 28.75hrs per week comprising of Monday to Thursday 8.15am to 1pm and Friday 8.15am to 5pm with 30minute lunch break.

Main duties of the job

To provide an effective day to day reception/clerical support to facilitate the smooth running of the Endoscopy admissions services on a day to day basis under the direction and supervision of senior colleagues. This job role covers; data entry to facilitate patient procedures and outpatient appointment bookings, the movement of case notes around the Trust and reception duties. This role involves face to face contact with patients, consultants and various Trust staff so a professional attitude is required at all times along with a strong eye for attention to detail.

Experience/Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good general education, GCSE's or equivalent, previous keyboard/computer skills. NHS experience. Previous 12 months experience in relevant role. Proven experience dealing with patient/customer either face to face or telephone. Knowledge of the PAS system, good understanding of post from JD.

Patient/Client Care

Essential criteria
  • Ability to show empathy and understanding. Ability to maintain professionalism when interacting with patients and staff. Demonstrates values and behaviours that supports the Trust vision. Excellent telephone manner, good verbal communication and team player. Experience of working in a busy environment with conflicting priorities. Ability to use computer more or less continuously.
