At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.

In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

 

Job overview

The Clinical Support Worker - higher level  is a member of the care team who will support Registered Practitioner in the delivery of routine patient care. The Clinical Support Worker will undertake a broad range of care activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Practitioner. 

The Clinical Support Worker  will also work closely and under supervision of the  Associate Practitioners.

 

Main duties of the job

Gardner Ward is a busy 28 bedded ward specialising in elective bowel, breast and day surgery.  We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant, hospital experience is desirable but not essential.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a Trust induction course, which will include all the trust statutory/mandatory training to join our team. You will need to be motivated and committed to high standards of patient care.

We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision on the ward and are committed to professional development of all staff. Team working is an integral part of the ward with all staff enabled and empowered to make real difference for their patients

Qualifications / Training

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and social Care or an acceptable alternative Level 2 qualification
  • Satisfactory general education and evidence of additional training relevant to role
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or an acceptable alternative level 3 qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 6 months current exerience in a health or social care environment
Desirable criteria
  • 3 months (within the last 2 years) experience of working in NHS

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work under instruction from a Registered Practitioner with direct supervision and support
  • Basic IT Skills
