The Conquest Hospital in Hastings and our Community Services were rated ‘Outstanding’ and Eastbourne DGH was rated ‘Good’ Our two acute hospitals have Emergency Departments and provide 24 hour a day care, offering a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, outpatient and maternity services, supported by a full range of diagnostic and therapy services. 


In the summer of 2020, the Trust launched its ambitious ‘Building for our Future’ (BFF) programme. This once in a lifetime programme aims to redevelop and expand our hospitals at Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill, transforming the environment in which we provide care for generations to come.

Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Bexhill Hospital we offer a range of outpatient, day surgery, rehabilitation and intermediate care services. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.

In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

 

Job overview

A rare opportunity for a FULL TIME 37.5 hours vacancy for a Housekeeper to join our BUSY team in Community Estates and Facilities at Rye Memorial Hospital.

The Working Hours are 12.00-20.00  each day, 5 days per week.

Monday 12.00 - 20.00

Tuesday 12.00 - 20.00

Wednesday 12.00 – 20.00

Thursday 12.00 - 20.00

Friday 12.00 - 20.00

The suitable candidate will receive full training , uniform and a generous annual leave package of 27 days plus Bank Holidays. (this allowance increases after 5 years). Contributory pension scheme is also included.

Salary is  £22383.00 per year.

Successful candidates will also be eligible to join the NHS Temporary Services Team (BANK) where there is an opportunity for additional hours. 

Main duties of the job

The Housekeeping Team are pivotal to the smooth running of Rye Memorial Hospital with duties to include cleaning and serving patient meals and drinks to name but a few.

Rye Hospital has 19 beds and  an Outpatients department. 

Rye Memorial Hospital is a rehabilitation centre which offers specialist care to patients requiring a longer stay in Hospital to allow them to return to their own homes. 

It is a very pleasant environment to work in, and team work is vital to the smooth running of the facilities.
