Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Bexhill Hospital we offer a range of outpatient, day surgery, rehabilitation and intermediate care services. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.

In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

 

Job overview

Cookson Devas is a 15 bedded general surgical ward, We are looking for an experienced Clinical Support Worker. Hospital experience is desirable but not essential.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a Trust induction course, which will include all the trust statutory/mandatory training to join our team. You will need to be motivated and committed to high standards of patient care.

We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision on the ward and are committed to professional development of all staff. Team working is an integral part of the ward with all staff enabled and empowered to make real difference for their patients.

 

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Support Worker (Band 3) is a member of the care team who provides:

·         Personal care or chaperone duties

·         Supporting patients with bathing, toileting, dressing and meals

·         Records patient information

·         A range of delegated clinical care duties

·         Undertakes and records patients’ vital signs

·         Escalate any concerns in observation or change in patient’s condition

·         Support and supervision of Band 2 clinical support workers

·         Enhanced observations

·         Patient escort role
