At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.

In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

 

Job overview

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a talented health care analyst for the role of Senior Business Support Analyst.

 

We are looking for someone who has a proven track record in specialist information provision and analysis which is supported by an in-depth specialist knowledge of NHS datasets and definitions, has an eye for detail and excellent interpersonal skills, is proud of their work and ensures everything is fully documented in order to drive reporting and analysis developments through advanced Excel skills and SQL.

Main duties of the job

This is an important and impactful role, undertaking analysis on internal and external datasets to provide operational and clinical colleagues with the information required to inform key decisions for operational planning and administering patient care. The ability to develop online reporting platforms such as Power BI and SSRS will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will work within a team environment and will be responsible for providing a range of reports and returns, as well as responding to ad-hoc requests in a timely manner.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or hold equivalent experience within an information or performance-related role
  • Evidence of continuous development

  • Management Qualification or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of data management, analysis, and interpretation within the NHS
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft SQL to query data and design reports
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including design and development, creating pivot tables and charts and complex formulas and formatting
  • Identifying problems and devising solutions
  • Working in partnership with others, using data to make recommendations to improve services
  • Using initiative and flexibility to meet work demands
  • Communicating complex issues and analysis of complex datasets to audiences with varying levels of information literacy
  • Experience of supervising staff
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience in an acute NHS trust
  • Using Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts to monitor processes
  • Presentation / teaching ability
  • Experience of Microsoft reporting tools – Power BI / SSRS
