At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.
Job overview
The job involves providing a comprehensive and holistic admin support for Foundation Year 1 doctors in training and medical students on placement who are based at Eastbourne District General Hospital. This involves being part of a small and dedicated Medical Education team located on this site.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the job of Postgraduate Administrator (UG & FY1) are as follows:
- administrative and operational support for Foundation Year 1 doctors in training. This involves organisation of centralised teaching programme, Foundation e-portfolio maintenance and advice, liaison with rotation specialties, dealing with day-to-day queries and sign-posting and support for Annual Record of Competency Progression (ARCP) process;
- organisation of placements for students from Brighton & Sussex and King's College London medical schools. Includes liaison with clinical specialties, induction and working with Educational Fellows
- assist with annual events including central Induction in August and October and the Careers Evening
- working in close collaboration with the other members of the team at Eastbourne DGH and Conquest Hospital

- NVQ in Administration (Level 3) or equivalent
- Good working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
