At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the District Nurse Administration Team, and we're looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our welcoming team as Administration Support Officers. The successful candidates will be based in Eastbourne, St Mary's House (cross site working at Hailsham and Seaford).
We are looking for candidates who possess a strong willingness to learn, relish challenges, and exhibit the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team. Candidates who are committed to improving patient services, with excellent communication skills, in a dynamic and bustling environment.
You'll work alongside colleagues, making sure the District nursing visits and appointments flow smoothly, while helping maintain an efficient and effective administration service.
You will be employed within the broader scope, which encompasses District Nursing, Bladder & Bowel, and the Frailty Service.
Please note that our service operates seven days a week (Including Bank Holidays), and weekend work on a rotating basis is part of the role. There may also be cross-site work, so being a car user is necessary.
The core service hours are from 08:00 to 18:00.
30 hours - 37.5 hours considered.
Main duties of the job
We're in search of someone who can thrive in a busy office setting. The role involves a variety of tasks:
• Inputting patient referrals into our electronic patient record system (SystmOne)
• Answering phone calls
• Organising patient information packets
• Making outgoing calls to update patients on their District Nurse visits
• Managing the sickness phone for the service
• Onboarding for new starters (getting systems in place, uniform and equipment)

Education
Essential criteria
- Good standard of general education, to GCSE grade C or equivalent, including Maths and English
- NVQ3 in Administration or proven equivalent experience
- Able to undertake further training required for role

- ECDL or alternative IT qualification

- Experience of general office duties in NHS or similar large complex organisation.
