Remote Clinical Coding Analyst

Band 5

**Accredited Clinical Coders only**

Successful applicants that hold the ACC qualification  for over a year can expect £2,500 uplift in addition to their Band 5 salary per year.

Following a detailed review of the Trust’s Clinical Coding Service, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the department for full time, ACC qualified coder with enthusiasm and motivation to join our extremely busy Clinical Coding Department. The post holder will have responsibility for the clinical coding of all acute specialties, by abstracting clinical data from the patients records and translating it into diagnostic (ICD10) and procedure (OPCS) coding classifications.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Coding Team performs an extremely important role in the information and financial flows of the Trust and is a source of healthcare data for the Department of Health (DOH) and World Health Organisation (WHO).

As an Accredited Clinical Coder, you will have experience of coding a variety of specialties that occur within an acute NHS organisation. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and strive to create accurate clinically coded data, embracing the national clinical coding standards, rules, and conventions, to ensure the Trust data is sufficiently robust.

We are a centralised coding team with coding offices on two sites. Coders can also choose to work on site full time or have the option to adopt a hybrid working approach, working part on site and part remotely.

Our source documentation for coding is a mix of paper and electronic documents, emphasising moving towards a fully electronic patient record.
