The Conquest Hospital in Hastings and our Community Services were rated ‘Outstanding’ and Eastbourne DGH was rated ‘Good’ Our two acute hospitals have Emergency Departments and provide 24 hour a day care, offering a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, outpatient and maternity services, supported by a full range of diagnostic and therapy services. 


In the summer of 2020, the Trust launched its ambitious ‘Building for our Future’ (BFF) programme. This once in a lifetime programme aims to redevelop and expand our hospitals at Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill, transforming the environment in which we provide care for generations to come.

At Bexhill Hospital we offer a range of outpatient, day surgery, rehabilitation and intermediate care services. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.

In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

 

Job overview

This is to inform you that a job opportunity has arisen for an Education Centre Administrator who would be part of our small team in Medical Education based at Eastbourne District General Hospital in the Education Centre.  The post requires excellent customer service, organisational, admin and IT skills and a degree of flexibility.  The job will entail managing the Front of House/Reception, room set-up/down, room bookings and various other duties which are included in the job description.  

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the Education Centre Administrator post include the following: managing Front of House/Reception, dealing with clients, room bookings, basic AV/IT trouble-shooting, organisation of the weekly Medical Grand Round, Centre maintenance, security issues, assisting with health and safety checks, course administration and communications with Centre occupants.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good level of general education including Maths and English
  • NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL or alternative IT qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of good written and verbal communication skills
  • Relevant experience in utilising IT including databases, room booking systems, AV technology and other Social Media systems.
  • Previous experience of working as part of a team in a busy environment
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to upload videos onto YouTube.
  • Experience of recording and downloading teaching sessions/presentations.
