About the Role: Based at Crawley Hospital, with occasional requirements at Horsham Hospital, you'll be an integral part of a team that’s committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You’ll assist in timely assessments and rehabilitation, working with patients who truly need your support.

 

Main duties of the job

  • Experience: Previous experience working with individuals who require care or rehabilitation due to their illness or disability.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work across sites and, in the future, to support a 7-day service. A full driving licence and access to a car are desirable.

As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to receive support from other therapy colleagues, receive clinical supervision from registered therapists, participate in the in-service learning programme, develop your practice relevant to the team, participate in competency development with the team and more formally complete the Therapy Assistant Foundation Training.  You will assist in supporting service development and shaping the future clinical practice of the therapy team.

We are looking for someone who likes working with people and is reliable, flexible and adaptable in their work. Previous experience as a Therapy Assistant or similar is desirable, and applicants should have experience of delivering care and/or rehabilitation to older people with various needs.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will enjoy problem solving, have excellent communication skills, and want to work on the wards within a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping to implement timely and person-centred assessments and rehabilitation. Full driving licence and access to a car for work are desirable.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Be able to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Relevant theoretical & practical training to NVQ III level or equivalent. e.g., departmental training or courses on topics relevant to the post
Desirable criteria
  • Up to date manual handing training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience of working under own initiative
  • Experience of planning own workload on a daily basis
  • Good IT skills, including Word, Excel and email
  • Experience of caring for patients in a community healthcare setting
Desirable criteria
  • At least 1 years’ experience NHS health or social care experience
  • Signed competencies in areas relevant to the post
  • Experience of integrated documentation
