Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 Dietitian to join our friendly team to work as a valued and active member of the Community Dietitians team based at St Richards Hospital, Chichester.
The department is well respected and has clinical speciality areas in acute medicine, critical care, diabetes, elderly care, gastroenterology, home enteral tube feeding, oncology, paediatrics, stroke/neurology, bariatrics and surgery.
This is permanent post and the applicant must be self-motivated, well-organised and be confident communicator.
Informal visits or discussions about the role are very welcome.
Chichester is located on the South coast with the sea and South Downs within easy reach. It is a vibrant and lively place to live and work with excellent transport links to Portsmouth, London and the rest of the South coast.
Main duties of the job
Have you recently qualified or are looking to develop your dietetic skills further? If yes, then we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our community team at St Richards Hospital.
This post will provide dietetic advice to patients at home and in community hospital settings. They will also have a role in providing diabetes education sessions alongside other dietetic and MDT staff.
Regular travel between sites is required, a car driver and access to a car for work is essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To work as part of the Community Dietitians team in providing a quality dietetic service to patients at home, in-patients and out-patient settings and provide regular group education sessions – to patients or other staffing groups.
This workload may be subject to change depending on internal department service review, e.g., maternity or sick leave cover.

Experience/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics
- Current registration with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Skills
Essential criteria
- Clinical placement completed as part of degree or equivalent
- Good and up to date clinical dietetic skills and knowledge
- Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
- Car driver
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working as a dietitian in the NHS
People Management and Development
Essential criteria
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish and maintain communication on complex information
