Trosolwg o'r swydd

a)      The post holder will contribute to the development and facilitation of a clinical skills education programme appropriate to a range of clinical settings, predominantly focused on the Band 3-4 therapy workforce, although not exclusively.

 

b)      They will work in partnership with the locality based Clinical Leads, Area Therapy Leads and Professional Leads to devise training plans that meet the needs of locality based services and contribute to the Trust wide competency development framework.

 

c)      The post holder will embed the principles of evidence based care and support staff to develop knowledge, skills and competencies as required by role.

a)      To demonstrate up to date knowledge and clinical skills competency in delivering evidence based clinical skills and competency-based teaching programmes.

 

b)      Effective communication with learners and colleagues at all times in a manner consistent with the knowledge and skills of a senior clinician.

 

c)      Demonstrate strategies that will assist in the integration of learning both in the clinical and educational setting. This will include consideration of different learning styles and approaches.

 

d)      Creation and evaluation of the clinical skills and competency-based programmes, in collaboration with services across the Trust localities, to ensure there is equitable access to learning activities. This will be informed by an annual training needs analysis.

 

e)      Working in partnership with the Widening Participation Lead to contribute to the planning and delivery of the Care Certificate to ensure it continues to meet local and national requirements and reflects the Trust values.

a)    Will work with the locality based Clinical Leads, Area Therapy Leads and Professional Leads to devise training plans that meet service needs.

 

b)    Will be required to organise Continuing Professional Development events, including enhanced assessor activities and engagement with Workforce Education Team to develop training programmes that reflect local, regional and national requirements.

 

c)     To facilitate and deliver the clinical skills training programme to predominantly therapy support staff across the Trust localities in collaboration with specialist teams, clinical leads and the wider Workforce Education Team.

 

d)    The post holder will not be a budget holder but will be responsible for ensure effective and efficient use of resources, equipment and training locations associated with the role.

 

e)    Will contribute to service improvement through participation as required in project management and change initiatives

Qualifications and/or professional registration

  • Degree, Post graduate diploma or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • Evidence of relevant post graduate courses/CPD and reflective practice relevant to clinical speciality

  • Training in student education
  • Approved teaching qualification

Experience

  • Extensive clinical experience at senior band 5 or band 6

  • Experience of line management
  • Experience of developing and appraising staff using an evidenced-based approach

Skills and knowledge

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of delivering clinical skills and competency development frameworks to meet the requirements of the Trust and individual learners
  • Demonstrates effective written and spoken communication and an ability to deliver complex information through presentations, meetings and documentation
  • Demonstrates good motivational, organisational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of principles of teaching and learning
  • Demonstrates ability to translate national and local policy, and professional standards into practice and teaching sessions
  • Ability to work as an autonomous professional or as part of a team demonstrating effective prioritisation, problem solving and using clinical judgement
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, remain motivated and support colleagues during times of change
  • Is literate in use of Microsoft Office applications in particular, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrates competency in a range of clinical skills
  • Demonstrates a commitment to learning and development with documented evidence of CPD
  • Demonstrates a commitment to learning and development, skill sharing and competency acquisition of others
