In the summer of 2020, the Trust launched its ambitious ‘Building for our Future’ (BFF) programme. This once in a lifetime programme aims to redevelop and expand our hospitals at Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill, transforming the environment in which we provide care for generations to come.

At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.

In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

 

Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a full time  AMD ( age - related macular degeneration)  co-ordinator to support the Ophthalmology team based at our Bexhill hospital. The hours will be 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job


To act as the first point of contact for any queries regarding IV injections/OCT scans, from patients relatives, other health care professional and visitors.
To work as part of a team of self motivated individuals in developing and co-ordinating the Intravitreal Injection appointment booking System and to support the Senior Sister.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • General education to GCSE level including maths and English
  • IT skills: MS Office applications
  • Administration NVQ3 or proven equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous and proven administration experience
  • Experience and understanding of a PAS system
  • Experience of setting up and maintaining administrative systems
  • Experience of dealing with difficult/ sensitive/ confidential situations.
  • Experience of working in a busy environment
Desirable criteria
  • Trained on Oasis PAS system
  • Customer care skills and experience, preferably within a healthcare environment
  • Previous experience of working in an administrative post within the NHS
