TEWV NHS Foundation Trust are offering an exciting opportunity for an innovative and dynamic nurse to join our corporate nursing team to work alongside the Tissue Viability and Physical Health Specialist Nurse as part of the Trust wide Tissue Viability Service to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

You will assist and deliver education to the wider MDT to motivate staff to improve practice and the delivery of safe effective care.

You will also role model excellent communication and leadership skills committed to improving the outcomes of the individuals accessing services provided by TEWV.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled and knowledgeable clinician in the field of tissue viability, with relevant experience working within a mental health and/or learning disability environment as an advantage. We are looking for someone who will enjoy a challenge, remains calm under pressure, and with the motivation and enthusiasm to make a difference to individuals accessing services provided by TEWV.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

To promote expert, individualised patient centred clinical care for clients with Tissue Viability needs including the assessment and management of wounds and/or leg ulcers, pressure ulcer prevention and management by using evidence based practice.

Work closely with other health care professionals to promote a high standard of care in the prevention and management of pressure ulcers ensuring the pressure ulcer procedure are followed.

Work as part of a highly motivated and proactive Tissue Viability Team which is able to provide professional and personal development opportunities and offer appropriate support for this post. You will have an active role in all aspects of wound care management within the Trust, including audits, pressure ulcer management and reporting, developing  and leading on training programs for all aspects of tissue viability.

You will support evidence based practice and be able to work independently and autonomously within clinical practice, having oversight of a patient caseload, but also, supporting the strategic role of developing our Tissue Viability Service and collaborating on physical health work streams across the Trust.

Qualifications

Meini prawf hanfodol
  • First level Registered Nurse Adult (RNA) or Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration and eligible to practice
  • BSc Nursing or Tissue Viability or post registration specialist course at BSc level
  • Post registration teaching and assessing qualification (e.g. Mentorship, ENB 998 or City and Guilds 730)
  • Post-registration qualification in tissue viability and/or wound care
Meini prawf dymunol
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Nurse Learning (RNLD) with current NMC registration and eligible to practice
  • MSc Nursing or Tissue Viability or post registration specialist course at MSc level

Experience

  • Clinical experience of delivering wound care
  • Clinical experience of implementing infection, prevention and control measures
  • Substantial experience or nursing at Band 5 or above
  • Able to manage own caseload

  • Previous experience of mental healthcare or working within a mental health or learning disability environment
  • Participation in the development of policies and procedures

Knowledge

  • Demonstratable knowledge at post graduate level of tissue viability
  • Knowledge of national policy and guidance in relation to tissue viability and wound care
  • Knowledge and experience of clinical audit and research

  • Knowledge of incident reporting and serious incidents in reference to pressure ulcers and tissue damage
