With a budget of around £365m, three hospitals and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield as well as community, therapeutic and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Radiologist in Paediatric Radiology to complement our established and experienced Radiology team.
It is envisaged that this will be a part time post, hours to be negotiated with the appointee.
Flexible job plans will be considered, including sessions at other centres to support research and expertise sharing opportunities.
Main duties of the job
The duties of the post include provision of ultrasound and plain film reporting of patients under the age of 18 years. There is no requirement to provide adult radiology or out of hours service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Share in the provision of paediatric radiology to the Trust.
work with the clinical lead for paediatric imaging and the clinical team to help to develop the service.
Supply paediatric radiology to a negotiated job plan.
Timetabled commitments of the appointed candidate will cover both Hartlepool and North Tees sites, as do all newly appointed radiologists. The majority of clinical activity for radiologists takes place on the North Tees site.
The appointee will be expected to share the aspirations of the other radiologists to provide a wide ranging, high quality imaging service to patients within the Trust.
General Radiology Duties:
The main focus of the post will be to provide ultrasound imaging and plain film reporting of paediatric patients. There will be opportunities for the post holder to develop skills in other areas of paediatric imaging if appropriate.

Prevention and control hospital acquired infection by ensuring close liaison with the Trusts control of infection department
Implementation of Trust Risk Management strategy and understand implications of same within area of work
Compliance with Blood Transfusion policy to ensure a safe service is provided to patients
Person specification
Clinical/educational
Essential criteria
- Full GMC (London) registration and meets the requirements of the ‘GMCs Good Medical Practice’;
- CCT in Radiology (or within 6 months from appointment on Specialist Register with GMC);
- FRCR or equivalent
- Trained at a minimum of 5 years as specialist registrar or equivalent;
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of research involvement including publications in peer reviewed journals (e.g. prizes or scholarships).
- Experience in clinical audit, research and teaching

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
