Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, enthusiastic individual to work in the Procurement & Supplies Department within North Tees & Hartlepool Solutions, and join a rapidly expanding and constantly developing function.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide high quality service and support to Theatres in relation to all Inventory Management activities including, but not limited to, the order, receipt, distribution and management of Loan Kits, implantable devices and clinical and non-clinical consumables. Working under the supervision of the Inventory Manager to assist in the day to day management and provision of a customer focused supply chain service, ensuring a seamless supply of goods to Theatres, aiding in the provision of patient care.

The successful candidate is required to be a front line member of the Procurement & Supplies team, representing the department and be a focal point for customers in relation to supply chain activities across a range of managed products.  The challenge for the candidate will be to ensure the right goods are ready for use in the right place, at the right time.

Main duties of the job

Undertake supply chain activities as directed by duly authorised personnel within Procurement, Supplies and Theatres, including but not limited to;

  • Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Receive, check, receipt, distribute and put away goods
  • Responsible to undertake fully audited stock counts
  • Resolve any discrepancies
  • Liaise with all levels of staff
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 3 GCSE’s at grade C or above to include English and Maths
  • NVQ level 3 in Customer Service or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in a supply chain environment
  • Extensive experience of inventory management
  • Extensive experience in the use of computerised ordering/stock management systems
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within the NHS or other public sector organisation.
  • Use of computerised stock management/patient booking system

Skills/Aptitudes

Essential criteria
  • Computer literate with the ability to use department based systems and Microsoft office suite of business applications.
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation
